How to Crop in Advanced Circles & Shapes Using Photoshop CC

While I have another tutorial on cropping images into circles using Photoshop, I figured I’d show you how to crop in advanced circles and shapes such as hearts. In addition to that, unlike in the other tutorial which shows you how to crop the circle on the first try, in this video I show you how you can first create a circle within a layer, reposition that circle and then crop the image.

Below you can see the cropped images that I created in the video.

In the video I show you how I created these shapes using Photoshop CC, but this will also work with Photoshop CS6 and older versions.

I used the following tools for the job:

  • Elipse tool
  • Custom shape tool
  • Quick selection tool
  • Rectangular marquee tool
  • Move tool
  • Crop tool
